Sustain Conference

About

Background, Aim and History

Mission and vision

Society is severely challenged in numerous ways to become more sustainable, and a revolution in our technology is urgently needed to establish reliable ways forward. Developing solutions requires joint efforts by engineers, scientists and industry in unison. Sustain is on a mission to inspire and facilitate the creation of better technical and scientific solutions to achieve a more sustainable society.

Sustain has a vision to be the yearly meeting place in Denmark for researchers and industry to jointly optimize, develop and implement the best sustainable solutions.

The summit was started in 2014 and has had about 300 participants every year and aims at growing steadily though partnerships with organisations that share the same goal.

The aim of Sustain is to give you

  • A forum to present your on-going activities and ideas supporting the development of a sustainable society.
  • Overview of all the activities in Denmark and abroad - and a meeting place where you likely will find new collaborators.
  • Overview of the business cases that evolve in sustanable development
  • Learn about how to assess if a technology is sustainable - claiming something is green is easy, but being able to document the expected impact is becoming increasingly important and we learn from each other about the many aspects to take into consideration.
  • Get inspiration and find partners for new research, educational, and collaboration initiatives, as well as student projects testing out the ideas for the future research.
  • Get an update on funding possibilities and support to create new research projects and apply for funding. Sustainability is the overarching goal of Horizon2020, and can also be said be the overall paradigm for Forsk2020 and will be guiding research funding for years to come
